Let's have a deep conversation.
Yes this is going to be about feminism. No, this is not going to be about chivalry or who pays what, or who cooks when. Feminism has evolved in the past decades. From the first wave feminism dating all the way to the 18th century to the fourth wave feminism that is to date. Most people do not know the history of feminism and what part it plays in our society. Each era of feminism had its own purpose and impact. The first being mainly for voting rights, the second for legal rights against sexual assault, the third for individualism and diversity and present day for combating sexual assault and misogyny.

Being a woman is a gift we ought to be proud of. A gift that we as women should embrace, a gift which of course comes its own roles and responsibilities. Yes, we are constantly fighting but we have come so far because of the revolutionaries that have come before us.

But let us be constantly aware of what feminism is really about, and not use another woman’s blood or tears, who genuinely fought the struggle, to publicize petty issues. Use your voice for something that matters. Women are still suffering around the world. What happened to taking responsibility? To changing the world? Dreaming big and overstepping boundaries? Why are we expected to be great mothers and hard workers? Because we can be! Feminism means different things to different people but at the end of the day we are on the same side.
