Wow it’s been a minute! Well where have you guys been? The decade has surely started with a bang giving us some tea to sip on in the form of silhouettes and bright colors! Well it has also come with its tragedies (R.I.P Kobe Bryant).
Without further ado, let’s start with the good ones.
Lil Nas pulled out in an all pink leather cowboy suit. “Got that cowboy hat from Gucci”. No, he actually got his outfit from Versace, I just needed to use that reference. One would describe it as southern queer country realness.
Mama Legend came through with a beautiful orange chiffon ensemble. The great pop of color perfectly matched her hair and skin. Let’s not talk about the excellent blend between sexy and sophisticated that we are getting from that gorgeous neckline.
Would it really be Fashion Tee if I didn’t show some well-deserved couple appreciation. Priyanka and Nick came onto the red carpet looking dapper in a Ralph and Russo gown and Zegna suit. Priyanka clearing took inspiration from Jennifer Lopez gown from the 2018 Grammy awards.
Now for those who were most likely to be found in the mall than at the Grammy's
Skinny jeans and thigh highs on one side, a 90's worthy night out outfit on the other. When did we start taking the glamour out of the Grammy's? Alicia Keys may or may not have wanted to wear Versace, I mean now we'll never know and as much as I acknowledge unconventional fashion I do not understand why Dua couldn't have worn that as a dress.
Okay well before you think I am the mean one. What did Cosmo have to say about this look? "she got this sparkly but, unfortunately, extremely underwhelming gown on a trip to the mall." Though I would approve of this dress on a different occasion, the Grammy's just isn't one of them.
We love H.E.R, we love her sunglasses, but we don’t discriminate. If it’s mall worthy, it’s mall worthy. The kimono concept was in the right place however this dress could easily be used as a day to day summer outfit. As for the belt, do not get me started with that belt.
